John P. Sherman is a valued associate with the Firm’s Civil Litigation department. His practice areas include personal injury law, contract law, torts, bankruptcy, and other types of civil litigation. He also has experience in litigating family cases, including divorce proceedings, mediations, and child support hearings. Mr. Sherman has litigated in dozens of hearings ranging from motions for summary judgment to trials for the appointment and removal of guardians. Finally, he frequents 341 bankruptcy hearings for the meeting of creditors.
Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Sherman worked as an intern for the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office, where he worked for the Felony Division. His responsibilities included drafting motions and preparing cases for trial. He then worked for the Law Offices of Alexander Michaels, where he similarly assisted in trial preparation and screened through discovery conducted of witnesses in felony criminal cases involving murders, robberies, and other serious crimes.
Mr. Sherman is a graduate of Florida State University, where he earned a B.S. in Criminology and a minor in Psychology. He received his Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University College of Law and is currently licensed to practice law in the State of Florida, as well as the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
